Coops Foyer/Cafe Create
May is the month when we support the young people at Coops Foyer. Please bring household items, tinned and dried food and toiletries and put them in a box by the Mothers’ Union table.
In June 2016 we went to Cafe Create in Bolton for our summer outing and decorated a tile. We had such a good time we are going again on May 15th! There will be a talk about the Create charity and Supper (quiche, salad, cake and drink). Also there will be an opportunity to decorate a plate, bowl or small ceramic object. (There was a deathly hush in the room when we started painting our tiles last time, such was the concentration, but the results were very pleasing and we all have a useful pan stand for our kitchens!) The cost is £10 and we will be traveling in cars so lifts will be arranged nearer the time. Let me know as soon as possible if you would be interested in going. Friends are welcome to join us. Please give your money to Sheila in an envelope.
A quotation from Mary Sumner, the founder of the Mothers' Union - “Our society is a company of mothers, and good women possessed with motherly hearts, women of all classes, high and humble, rich and poor, learned and unlearned, great ladies of the land and poor mothers in small homes. We have bound ourselves together to love and help one another.” (Still true today as it was in 1876, I think, but now we have men members too and we are worldwide. Well done Mary Sumner.)
